The Cincinnati Bengals had an impressive preseason debut against the Atlanta Falcons. We do know the Bengals' backups were better than the Falcons' backups. With that being said, it was a great way to start off the preseason. The link to the FTI Sports recap on the blog is: feeltheimpactradio.blogspot.com/What were your thoughts on the preseason debut of the Cincinnati Bengals?

The Bengals were impressive... Andy Dalton not so much. Trade him for a bottle of G2 Gatorade. Carson Palmer v.2. How many throws off the heel are we going to want? Dude gets scared in the pocket and launches the ball and let's God deal with where it lands.

In his defense, our line is the big problem with this team. And comparing him to Carson his a slap in Carson's face. I'd take Carson right now, and we'd be a heavy favorite along with Denver to make the Super Bowl

You cant be serious showtopp12 ...I'll give you 2005/2006 Carson. Andy will be just fine. People have to remember that this is only his 3rd season. I will reserve judgement until later.

Im saying for this one season if I had to pick who I wanted, I would take Carson in a heart beat to take us to the Super Bowl. Will Dalton be better? Maybe. But if I wanted to win this season, no question I'd rather have Palmer

I couldn't disagree more. I would take Dalton in a heartbeat to take us to the Super Bowl over Palmer. I'm a Carson fan as well but there is no chance in hell I would pick him over Dalton!

Till about 3 years ago when the Bengals began changing for the better, the term "Bengalized" was used. What it really means to be "Bengalized" is to know that no matter how hard you try you are not going to succeed because the organization as a whole does not care to succeed. Any stellar player coming out of college to play for the Bengals eventually became "Bengalized". It takes maybe two full seasons to get there but it always happened. You could see it in the blank stares of the players on the sidelines. It was a look of defeat, shame, and futility. Carson was "Bengalized". To say he wasn't is complete BS. He may be able to pick his career up somewhere else but he was never going to succeed with the Bengals. He is a product of a system that was to make money not to make wins. If he can ever get that motto out of his psyche he may be successful but so far he is damaged goods. I feel sorry for the guy that he played in that era because I think if he came in about the time Dalton came in, I'd say the Bengals are hands down the best team in the NFL right now. Dalton is good but Carson had the tools to be elite. Regardless, RIGHT NOW, you have to take Dalton over Palmer. If Carson throws 9000 yards and 83 touchdowns for the Cardinals this year, great. Just know he would never have done that playing in this organization.

This will be a telling year for Dalton. I love the guy, but in my opinion he will never be able to win a super bowl. Doesn't have the God given ability that a Carson Palmer had/has. He's tougher than Palmer, mentally and physically, but he just doesn't have it right now. I don't see him getting THAT much better to the point where he can win us a Super Bowl. Hope I'm wrong, but just being honest

I totally agree with you on the fact that this is a telling year for Dalton. This is his 3rd year in control of this offense. He has the weapons to really do well. It will be very interesting to see how well this team responds to the pressure of this season. I think if Dalton can step up and be a solid vocal leader, I think we will see a lot of good things from this team!
