I agree. Leake must stay. He would def be on the cheap now. I'd love to keep Latos but I think the Reds will deal Latos and try to keep Cueto. I think the Reds will be able to get solid players in return. Most are saying the Cespedes will be a Red before the end of the year. I'd say a trade will take place during the upcoming Winter Meetings.

I'd prefer not to trade one of the best pitchers in baseball for an above average hitter. Without his cannon of an arm his defense would even be poor. If the Reds are all in this last year then ya but if they care at for winning in the future you gotta look at bringing in more than just a 1 year power hitter.

Im perfectly fine with trading a piece that we wont be able to resign to go for it this year. They need a power hitting right handed bat. Cespedes would bring that. Not to mention he would destroy GABP with his power. If they make that move, it shows they are going for it this year, because damn, I just want to win!

I'm cool with the deal so long as Boston tosses in a sweetener.

I've thought about it and I'd rather take Aoki over Cespedes. The thing the Reds need the most help with is OBP. They already have enough pop in their lineup. It would be nice to have two run shots rather than our standard solo homers. Aaaaand that would free up moving one of our pitchers to bring in future talent.

As, Al Borland said... I don't think so Tim. Frazier 29 homers, Mesoraco 25 homers, Jay Bruce 18 homers (should rebound to at least 25 this year). Plenty of pop on the right side. Just need some guys on base for those homers. Unless you move Bruce (which I am all for). Move Bruce for the sunflower seeds, sign Aoki, and trade Cueto for Cespedes + others. Boom! Cespedes, Hamilton, Aoki. Power, Speed, OBP. Earth, wind, and fire baby!

Word is, the Reds are looking to trade Latos and/or Leake. With that being said, getting Cespedes would look like:
1. Hamilton (CF) 2. BP (2B) 3. Votto (1B) 4. Cespedes (LF) 5. Meseraco (C) 6. Bruce (RF) 7. Frazier (3B) 8. Cozart (SS) 9. Pitchers spot
A rotation COULD look like: Cueto, Latos, Bailey, Simon, Cingrani OR Ceuto, Bailey, Leake, Simon, Cingrani
Give me a rotation of Latos, Bailey, Leake, Simon, Cingrani (with Stephenson and Lorenzen on their way)

Is Cueto untouchable to the Reds? I think he is the player most likely to sustain a serious injury. His rotation mechanics and increasing size are worrisome to me. I don't care what people say... torquing your body 100+ times an outing is not good.

I was actually shocked the reds traded Latos. He was a class act and one hell of a guy. Both him and his wife were very active in the Cincinnati community. I think the Reds need to make a few more moves in the off-season. We need more quality pitchers and some pitchers who don't choke!!

There isn't any money for a quality pitcher via free agency, we don't really have the pieces to trade for quality pitching, and what we really need is a bat. Just get ready for a real baaaaaaaad year.
