This is a gut check for this Reds team. I think these next 16 games will be indicative of how they will fare the rest of the season... What do you think?

I would agree with the fact this is gut check time for this team. The Reds have a chance to really build their confidence as they take on some good teams. The Reds have done what they're supposed to do with bad teams. Now is the time to start winning games against teams over .500.

The Cardinals and Pirates so far have faired much better than the reds versus +.500 teams. The season is still early but I think this stretch can determine if we are on the road for a play-in game or winning the division.... or dare I say... sitting at home in October.

The problem is the fact we have to head out west to take on a good Oakland team and a great Texas team. This will be very interesting stretch. We can only hope Broxton comes back soon along with Marshall.

The Reds will be fine. This stretch is crucial, but if you look at the cards schedule vs the reds before the break, you have to think the cards will grow their lead. Don't forget tho the reds were far back in 2010 and when the schedule went their way they got hot and well, the rest was history

I can agree with that. However, this team is very inconsistent hitting add that to the fact that we haven't faired well against winning teams. From here to the All-Star break will tell me everything I need to know about this baseball team.

Well, the inconsistent hitting reared its ugly head last night. Getting shutout is always a kick in the groin... especially in front of your home crowd. AND against a post season competitor.

The Reds look to be really struggling getting them on over and in. If Jay Bruce gets cold... this team may be looking at getting shutout quite a few more times in this team wide cold stretch.

This offense is just brutal. BP is only batting like .184 (not sure on exact avg) since coming back from his injury. Luckily the Reds have been able to ride Jay Bruce again, during one of his awesome streaks. Hopefully, the rest of the team will follow suit.
